Homelessness is something that can happen to anyone. You do not have to be sleeping on the streets to be homeless. You might be: staying with friends; living in run down insecure or unsuitable accommodation; you may feel unsafe or in danger at home. Your legal status changes when you are 16. If you are 16 and over and have nowhere to stay, the local council may have a duty to house you. You don't have to be sleeping on the streets to get help.
