Stressed Out Session - Exercise

Exercise is a great way to de-stress. It can reduce anxiety, alleviate low mood and improve self-confidence. So what are you waiting for? Get moving!

  • Set yourself some goals. A short term goal could be to exercise for thirty minutes a couple of times a week, building up to four or five times a week, whilst a long term goal could be to lose weight or to reach a certain fitness level.
  • It's not 'all or nothing'. If you don't get to exercise as planned, that's okay, just get back on track tomorrow.
  • Beat the boredom - get adventurous! Why not try a new activity every month? How about canoeing, snorkelling, karate, trampolining...
  • It's better with two - why not encourage a friend or two to exercise with you? Join a yoga or aerobics class together or meet up to go biking.
